Fee Posting Error – FPE

By 02/27/2019Transactions

Description

A Fee Posting Error is used when a treatment has been posted incorrectly OR posted to the wrong patient/account OR to the wrong producer and it cannot be deleted. (i.e. entries made before last month end) This adjustment WILL decrease the balance on the account, and it WILL affect your accounts receivable total.

Note* If a payment has been made, you would have to reverse it or unallocate the payment before you begin this adjustment. Remember to Allocate Held Payment again when you are finished if you unallocated it. Any other adjustments done would also need to be deleted and re-entered when you are done if you still need them.

Step-by-Step

  1. Open the patient in Transactions.
  2. Click on the Adjustments Tab.
  3. Click New to begin a new adjustment.
  1. You must decide whether this is an insurance adjustment or a patient adjustment and click the appropriate choice.
  2. The date will appear automatically. Tab and in the Balance box, select decrease. In the Code box, select FPE Fee Posting Error (Decr.).
  3. Type in the amount you are looking to do Fee Posting Error for.
  4. Click Save.
  1. Highlight the treatment line that was posted in error and then click Apply.
  2. Click OK once the entire amount has been allocated.

The amount has now been taken off the balance owing on the account.
